In the backdrop of the globalised economic world order, one of the thrust areas of activities of the Chamber has been to foster trade relationship between Industry leaders of various countries and more particularly the neighbouring countries and Members of the Chamber. Thus, in order to explore the emerging business horizons of its members as well as developing and expanding Trade between West Bengal and foreign countries the Chamber interacts with the Ambassadors and Consuls of various countries, receive trade delegations and leads Business and Trade Delegations. The visits of the Chamber delegation to the Peoples’ Republic of China and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have been highly successful and widely acclaimed. With the objective of fostering goodwill and horizons of business, the Chamber also hosted a number of important Delegations. In recent years, the Chamber has signed Memoranda of Agreements with its counterparts and organizations with similar objectives in Vietnam, China and Latin American countries. By virtue of these MOA and collaborations, the Chamber has become well known in the business fraternity of these countries.
The activities of the Chamber are mainly nurtured through various Standing Committees of which are represented by experts on different subjects. In the current year, the Chamber has so far organized a number of Seminars and Interactive Sessions which were graced by Ministers in the Central and State Governments, Diplomatic Corps, senior Economists, Members of the Economic Advisory Council of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, CEOs of Public Bodies and the like. Chamber's activities are highlighted from time to time through Press Releases and are well published by the Media.
